Demetrios Farmakopoulos, founder of ProActive Physical Therapy, brings nearly 30 years of experience and a personal commitment to patient care. Holding a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College and board certification as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (American Physical Therapy Association), Demetrios has honed his assessment and treatment skills into a seasoned clinician. His extensive experience in private practice allows him to effectively treat a broad spectrum of orthopaedic and neurological needs. As a former competitive athlete in sports ranging from basketball and rugby to triathlons and mountain biking, Demetrios understands the importance of peak performance and focuses his sports rehabilitation on improving on-field function. He prioritizes hands-on manual therapy, believing it fosters a genuine connection with patients and ensures the highest quality care. In his free time, Demetri can be found enjoying a variety of outdoor pursuits, including mountain biking, hiking with his dogs, and snowboarding.
